Can you tell I study ancient history?

I was watching the episode on Hungary and he said that the spice he was talking about, paprika, was brought there in the 1500s by Turkish invaders.   

I have this same reaction about chili peppers in Thai cuisine.  Portuguese, baby, all the way.
