Oh my Buddha, yes. The thing that turned me on to anthropology was a segment on it my senior year of high school, and it completely changed the course I had envisioned for myself— I majored in anthro, and although I went into computer science the perspective is insanely valuable, especially in my current career/education focus on geospatial data modeling: the way we conceptualize and compartmentalize the world.
